Idyllic Summers in Italy

For years, we spent our summers in Sicily, drawn to the warmth, rhythm, and effortless charm of life along the foothills of Taormina. One of our most cherished places was Lido La Pigna—a small, family-run beach club tucked into a pebble cove along the Ionian Sea, where on bright days you could see Calabria on the horizon.

As spring gave way to summer, the island would come alive with the scent of sea salt, wild herbs, and sun-warmed stone. Locals flocked to their favorite Lidos—those beloved seaside escapes dotted across Italy—where time slowed, and simple pleasures reigned. Days were spent swimming, lingering over seafood lunches, and sipping spritzes as the sun slipped into the sea.

For Tony and me, these moments were more than just memories—they were a way of life. The same magic his family felt back in the ’70s and ’80s, when the Wrights would spend weekends on Mazzarò Beach, still lingers in that little cove. And it was that feeling we dreamed of bringing home.

Lido 73 was born from that dream.
A place inspired by the ease and beauty of Sicilian beach clubs, where good food, coastal breezes, and warm hospitality come together by the water. We created Lido 73 as a waterside escape for everyone—a space to relax, reconnect, and enjoy la dolce vita, right here at home.
